*WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 DELUXE TAKEDOWN RIFLE WITH LYMAN IVORY BEAD SIGHT.

SN 149153. Cal. 33 WCF. 24″ rnd bbl, takedown, half-magazine, full blue finish, highly figured American walnut stocks with checkered pistol grip and forend. Winchester hard rubber shotgun buttplate. Bbl shows Winchester address rolled on the left side in front of rear sight. “NICKEL STEEL / ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER” with Cal. designation to the rear. Upper tang is marked “MODEL 1886 / WINCHESTER / TRADEMARK REG. IN U.S. PAT. OFF.”. SN is stamped on lower tang under lever. Patent marks are also stamped under lever. Checkered buttplate shows Winchester logo as does the pistol grip cap. CONDITION: Very fine as professionally restored. Bbl shows 90% blue finish with some slight staining toward the muzzle. Magazine tube also shows 95% blue finish. Lyman ivory bead front sight is very good. Rear sight is very good. Bbl markings are sharp. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Receiver retains 80% blue finish that has been touched-up. Bolt shows 95% blue. Lever and hammer are both silver/grey patina with traces of case color in protected areas. All receiver marks are sharp. Stocks are replacements. Buttstock shows crotch grain on both sides. There is no wood designation mark on lower tang. Stocks are finely checkered and retain nearly all of their finish. Buttplate is very good and appears to be a reproduction. Mechanics are functional.
