1) WALTHER P38. SN 1796F. Cal. 9mm. 5″ bbl. Standard markings on slide, with the addition of the “369” shield marking of the 369th Croatian Infantry Regt., Wehrmacht. Matching SN on slide, frame and bbl. Brown Bakelite grips. WaA706, jvd marked mag. This gun is explained on pgs. 237 and 238, pictured on pg. 239 of The P38 Pistol vol. 3 by Warren Buxton. Accompanied by black leather clam shell holster. Marked on back “bml/43″/WaA23, “P.38”. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Good condition showing considerable finish wear. Markings are clear. Bore shows moderate pitting, rifling worn but visible. Fine mechanical function. Holster is solid showing wear. C&R 2) WALTHER P38. SN 230739. Cal. 9mm. 5″ bbl. Standard post war P38 “Ulm/Do.” markings. Dated 11/63 on right side of slide. Alloy frame. Matching SN’s. Post war black plastic checkered grips. Post war P38 banner Walther mag. Accompanied by a black leather German police holster dated 9/59. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Fine condition with light finish wear on high points. Minor handling marks. Markings clear. Grips show light handling marks. Bore is fine, bright with sharp rifling.
