*HIGH CONDITION WALTHER AC42 SECOND VARIATION P38 9MM PISTOL WITH HOLSTER.

SN 87I. Cal. 9mm. 5″ bbl. Standard WWII German markings. Eagle 359 inspector’s mark. Matching numbers on slide, frame and bbl. Black Bakelite grips. Mag is eagle 359 inspected, marked “P.38” on the left side. This gun is listed by SN on p. 160, described on p.181 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. I by Warren Buxton. We are unable to find the corresponding picture in the book. Accompanied by black leather clam shell holster marked on back “dta/42”, inspector’s marking is weak and illegible, “P38”. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Fine condition overall, retaining most of the orig finish with very slight wear on high points. All markings are clear. Bore has slight roughness and strong rifling. Mechanics are fine. Very fine grips show extremely light handling marks. All external numbers matching. Holster is good with light scuff marks. The stitching has pulled through on the back right side for 1-1/2″, there is also a stain there. 52342-37 GER (1,500-2,000) C&R – Lot 2312
