*BERETTA MODEL 949 OLYMPIC .22LR PISTOL.

SN 1108. Cal. 22LR. 8-3/4″ bbl. Marked on left side of slide “PISTOLA AUT.22 LUNGO TIPO OLIMPIANICO/PIETRO BERETTA-GARDONE V.T.-ITALIA”. Dated “1952” at rear of frame spur. Marked on right side of slide and frame with SN of gun. Alloy frame. Checkered wood grips. Accompanied by one Bakelite bottom mag and orig bbl weight. These guns were designed for the 1949 Olympics and were only made for a few years. PROVENANCE: Session two of the extraordinary Warren Buxton Collection. CONDITION: Very good as refinished. Frame is now bright. Markings are clear but weak from polishing. Slight pitting on sides of slide and bbl weight under finish. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. Mechanics are fine. Orig wood grips with sharp checkering and minor varnish wear/handling marks. Mag finish appears orig. All external numbers matching. 52342-20 GER (700-900) C&R – Lot 2416
