1805 DATED AMERICAN MODEL 1795 CONTRACT MUSKET.

NSN. 45″ 72 cal. bbl, 59″ overall. Standard configuration being copy of Charleville with three large bbl bands and bbl springs. Only markings are found on bbl including several proofs and 1805 date. Gun has a commemorative brass plaque on buttstock stating gun was owned by a Revolutionary War soldier. PROVENANCE: Outstanding estate collection of Confederate and historical arms of Morris Racker. CONDITION: Good overall, repaired wrist and inset wood forward of lock. Several hairlines and weathered stock, metal all cleaned and now a mottled gray. Possible re-conversion with added frizzen spring. Mechanically functional with pitted bore. Added leather sling is solid. 51958-24 JS (2,000-3,000) – Lot 3344
