EXTREMELY FINE CASED ALLEN & THURBER PEPPERBOX REVOLVER.Cal. 32. Gun is 7-3/4″ overall with 3-1/2″ 6-bbl cluster retaining most of its finish with equally fine accessories including a very unusual 2-cavity mold which molded “ovoid”, almost egg-shaped projectiles which several loose examples found in casing. Rare, early plunger flask and wood handled loading tool. All found in burgundy lined compartmentalized mahogany casing. PROVENANCE: Outstanding estate collection of Confederate and historical arms of Morris Racker. CONDITION: Extremely fine, retaining 98% orig bright blue on bbls. Bright case colors on hammer. Frame and trigger guard retain about 20% bright blue. Grips retain virtually all their orig high polish piano-type varnish. Mechanically crisp. Mold has staining and light pitting. Flask retains about 70% orig varnish. Casing sound with old pry marks and broken clasp to lock, Interior is very good with fading and soiling. 51958-22 JS (3,000-5,000) – Lot 3211
