FINE OIL ON CANVAS TROMPE L’OEIL OF TWO HANGING WOODCOCK BY ALEXANDER POPE (1849-1924). Painting shows two woodcock hanging from top of painting with sprigs of yellow buttercup flowers. Green paneled background. Signed lower right and dated “98”. Housed in a molded oak painted frame. Provenance: Probably acquired from the artist, descended from the Dutton-Chase family of Medford, Mass. SIZE: 15″ h x 12″ w. CONDITION: Near excellent condition. 65-1 (5,000-10,000)
