*WINCHESTER MODEL 12 EXPERIMENTAL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12ga. Field grade gun with 20″ plain bbl that has been reduced in length and now has a threaded boss at the muzzle with a removable 7″ long choke. This appears to be something that Winchester was experimenting with and never produced. The forearm is short, flat bottom ribbed, uncheckered stock with hard rubber buttplate. The experimental choke has a silver bead on top and there are two drilled and tapped holes on top of the receiver. SN 1541929. CONDITION: Excellent. Modified as noted retaining 97-98% strong original blue overall with light surface rust on the receiver and chamber area of the bbl. . Sound wood retaining 95-96% original varnish.
