*WINCHESTER MODEL 1897 TRENCH GUN. Cal. 12ga. Usual configuration with 21″ cylinder bbl, metal hand guard shroud with bayonet lug and sling swivel. It has small round ribbed forearm and semi-pistol grip stock with hard rubber buttplate. The bbl is marked on the top with a flaming bomb and the left side of the receiver “U.S.” and flaming bomb. The stock is unmarked but has military style sling swivel. SN 951838. CONDITION: Very good. The metal retains about 95% original finish overall with several small nicks and scratches. The forearm is missing a sliver and has a couple of small gouges. The buttstock, probably a replacement, retains most of a fine refinish and has a replacement buttplate.
