TEN JADE CARVINGS.

1) Ritual jade tube. Probably Han Period (2nd x BC-2nd c AD), China. Tsung forms decorated with four low relief characters. Brown stone with a weathered surface. 2) Jade pendant carving in the form of two vertebrae. Han style and possibly of the period, China. Pale yellow stone with russet markings. 3) Jade bead. Possibly Han period, China. Bead beveled at both ends with a hole drilled from top to bottom. Surface decorated in relied with three chih lung. Gray stone with large areas of red. 4) Tubular formed jade pendant. Han style and possibly of the period, China. Carved in the form of a tiger’s head. Stone of a dark green color, calcified and eroded. 5) Jade pendant of a horse tally. Han style and possibly of the period, China. Cylinder form engraved with horses and inscribed. Stone of a gray and russet color. 6) Archaic jade bead. Probably Han Period, China. Oval tubular form carved with four Archaic characters. Stone of a much weathered brown color. 7) Archaic jade. Han style and possibly of the period, China. Yuan Li form. Fire burned stone decoration of archaic scrolling. Brown worn surface. 8) Archaic jade pendant. Han style and probably of the period, China. Sides carved with two winged animals. Olive green stone with large areas of calcification. 9) Archaic jade figure of a seated human. Hung Shan Culture (2700-2000 BC), China. Yellow green with areas of cinnabar. 10) Archaic style carved jade with Tao Tieh masks. Han Period (2nd c BC-2nd c AD), China. Much weathered black colored stones.
