RARE WINCHESTER CLASS B DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN.

RARE WINCHESTER CLASS B DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12ga. Extremely rare gun with 30″ bbls choked MOD/IC with dbl. lump and dolls head rib extension. The rib is marked ” WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO (CLASS B) NEW HAVEN CONN. USA”. These shotguns were only imported and sold by Winchester between 1879-1884. Receiver has nicely scalloped fences with fine English arabesque pattern engraving. Lock plates are also marked with the makers name and “CLASS B”. It has dbl. triggers and extractors. Wood is straight grain walnut with full checkered splinter forearm and round knob checkered stock with smooth steel buttplate. SN 1380. CONDITION: Good to very good. The bbls retain most of a re-browning. Receiver and lock plates retain traced of case colors in the sheltered areas with the balance turned silver. Wood has a repair through the wrist and retains about all of a refinish. Bores are bright with light pitting. 4-46915 JR192 (2,000-3,000)
