BELGIAN SMALL-BORE PERCUSSION SHOTGUN. Cal. about 12mm. Very dainty and decorative percussion shotgun with 31-3/8″ damascus bbls, tapered matted rib with single bead having gold inlays over both chamber areas and top of the rib. Barrels have two damascus guides that contain the original iron ramrod. The stock is 1-pc with relief carved floral and arabesque patterns, with checkering on the forearm and wrist. The buttstock is relief carved on the left side with a 5-pointed star and matching patterns. Right side has identical patterns with a German silver cap box having a gold-washed lid with a relief stag. The rib extension, top tang, lock plates, hammers and trigger guard are all nicely engraved with very fine arabesque patterns and game scenes. Trigger guard is also game scene engraved. The swivels, triggers and single wedge are all gold washed. Buttplate is smooth, blued steel. CONDITION: Excellent. The bbls retain 75-80% brown pattern, the lock plates retain 50-60% case colors and the wood, most of its oil finish. Excellent mechanics. 4-46584 JR35 (1,500-3,000)
