*CHARLES DALY DRILLING. Cal. 12×12/8x57R. Made in Prussia by J.P. Sauer & Son. Standard drilling with 28″ bbls, tapered matted rib, caterpillar front sight with single folding rear sight. Both bbls with makers name. The bottom flat of the bbl marked “Prussia” as is the water table on the receiver. The side locks are lightly engraved with cocked indicators and Charles Daly markings at the front. The bbls have double lump with Greener cross bolt and the receiver has cocked indicators and side cocking lever for the rifle bbl, hidden folding sight in the top tang. Nicely figured walnut wood with splinter forearm and round knob pistol grip stock, 13-3/4″ over a smooth steel buttplate. SN 141828. CONDITION: Good to very good. The bbls retain about 85% original blue with a thin cleaned spot on the left side. The receiver and lock plates retain 50-60% faded case colors, stronger in sheltered areas. The wood is sound and retains most of its original bright finish. Bright shiny bores with some light pitting in the right shotgun bbl. 4-46710 JR39 (1,500-2,500)
