* WINCHESTER EXPERIMENTAL TF6 SINGLE SHOT ELECTRICAL IGNITION SHOTGUN. Cal. 12ga. This shotgun features a slide forward bbl for loading and to the rear for lock and firing. Firing was by electrical ignition of the priming area of the caseless shot shell. Design and fabricated in 1967, the TF6 was an electrically fired version of the TF5 single shot impact ignition shotgun. Although all internal parts were changed the external appearance was virtually identical. The slide is actuated by depressing the latch in front of the trigger guard. There is a lever-type safety on the right side of frame. A battery was housed in the buttstock. Forearm is checkered select walnut as is the pistol grip checkered buttstock. Pistol grip has a steel cap with “W” insert. Non-factory recoil pad. Bbl is 28-3/4″ including Winchoke. Metal is unmarked except for the Winchester Research Proof on the left side of bbl and frame at the breech. CONDITION: Excellent. Metal retains about all its original blue except in the slide area. Wood retains most of its original varnish with some scuffs and scratches on the buttstock. Bright shiny bore. Fine mechanics. 4-46736 JR344 (1,000-5,000)
