FRAMED SILK FAN PAINTING BY YUAN DING.

China, 19th Century. The painting in round form depicting a figure crossing a bridge away from a building in the foreground with a mountainous terrain overhead. Cyclically dated to the 5th Month of 1820 or 1880. Housed in a mid 20th C square huali hardwood frame with carved dragons around the border having a hardwood thin veneer mat with round window, all under glass. SIZE: 30-1/4″ h x 34″ w. Painting is 11″ dia. CONDITION: Appears to be laid down on a board, hole repair right of mountain, some separation to stitching, light foxing, otherwise stable & good.
