IMPRESSIVE PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN FLOOR VASES.

China. Late Qing Dynasty. The large pair made in a flattened hexagonal form and painted with reserves of figures around each section surrounded by trim made up of colorful flowers along with other precious objects. Applied chilongs at the shoulders and scepter form handles flanking the necks. SIZE: 34-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: By descent thru the family of William Gano Pierce (1825 – 1875) who sailed from New York on board the Samuel Russell under Captain T. D. Palmer to Hong Kong, arriving June 15th, 1849. He remained in China for eight years. By direct descent through the family to the current owner. CONDITION: One very good.
