TWO FAMILLE ROSE “THREE BOY” VASES.

19th/20th Century, China. Each vase in bottle form decorated around the body with bats and lotus scroll on a dual glazed ground. The top accented with a ring of ruyi and traces of gilt remain on the rim. Applied to both are three young boys at play including two perched upon the shoulder and one pulling a rope below. They are marked on the underside with iron red Qianlong seals on a turquoise glazed ground. SIZE: Approximately 12-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: Freeman’s, Fine Asian Arts, September 14, 2009, lots 581 and 582. CONDITION: Red above yellow example: 1/4″ repair to foot of lowest boy, wear to enamel consistent with age and use, loss to gold decoration on rim.
