ORIGINAL OIL ON CANVAS FOR KELLOGGS CORN FLAKES.

Absolutely adorable painting by James Alexander Bayne used by the Kelloggs Company for their 1915 advertising campaign. James Bayne attended the Chicago Art Institute from 1908-1912 becoming a versatile illustrator. Bayne’s career was interrupted by World War I. He flew as a U.S. combat pilot in France and was killed in action at age 25. He is interred at the Lafayette Escadrille Memorial near Paris. Included in this lot is a March 1915 Ladies’ Home Journal with the original Kelloggs ad that featured this painting. SIZE: Sight: 18-1/4″ w x 17-1/2″ h in original frame.
