*RARE EXPERIMENTAL OR PROTOTYPE WINCHESTER DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12ga. Unusual box lock shotgun with 27-1/2″ bbls, swamped tapered matted rib with single bead, simple box lock action, flat sided with Model 21-style floorplate marked “WINCHESTER” in an arc. It has very nicely figured walnut wood with coarse checkered square beavertail forearm, Anson & Deeley latch, checkered straight stock 14-1/2″ over a serrated composition buttplate. It has dbl. triggers and extractors and is fitted with European style sling swivels. The left side of the bbls is marked “MODEL EX WINCHESTER 12GA 2 3/4 FULL”. The right side is marked “12GA 2 3/4 MOD”. It has a sliding thumb safety on the top tang. Serial number is on the top tang under the thumb lever. The bbl watertable is marked with a variety of proofs and “MADE IN FRANCE”. SN 600413. Exceedingly rare, one of a kind. CONDITION: As new. Retains virtually all its original factory finish to both metal and wood. This is apparently an experiment by Winchester to produce a modestly priced double. 4-46777 (1,000-2,000)
