*FINE 28 GAUGE BROWNING SUPERPOSED EXHIBITION SHOTGUN W/SIDEPLATES AND FINE GAME SCENES BY BODSON AND SCROLL BY DUJARDIN.

SN 192F75. Cal. 28 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 26-1/2″ Bbls with narrow, ventilated rib are marked with Morgan Utah and Montreal addresses on top left. Browning patents, etc. are on right. Left side of breech is marked for mod and full chokes. Coin finished nicely filed rounded action with ornamental sideplates features non-automatic safety and gold plated single selective trigger. Action is engraved with well cut medium scroll within acanthus enhanced geometric borders. This scroll and bordering surround well rendered sporting vignettes of dogs and game birds on sideplates; a pointer pointing a pair of quail in rocky meadow on left, and a retriever, duck in mouth, stepping out of a pond on right. Bottom of action portrays a running rabbit. This interesting engraving is signed by noted Browning engraver “N. Bodson” at bottom of quail scene. “Dujardin” signature is on trigger plate. American walnut long tang square knob buttstock with interesting burl and flame/ stump figure measures 14-3/8″ over Browning embossed hard rubber buttplate. Point pattern checkering with line borders is at grip. Three piece schnabeled forend matches well. Bore diameter: top -.545, bottom – .542. Bore restrictions: top – .030 (full), bottom – .013 (mod). Drop at heel: 2-1/8″, drop at comb: 1-7/16″. Cast: approx 1/4″ off. Weight: 6 lbs. 7 oz. LOP: 14-3/8″. PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Excellent, very near new, with only a few scattered handling and assembly marks in all fine factory finishes. There is scant evidence of firing. Mechanics are crisp.
