SN 443520. (1927) Cal. 20 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 30″ Bbls have flat, matted, raised, ventilated rib. Engine turned bbl flats are stamped with SN and grade. Bottoms of bbls are marked “BEST FLUID STEEL”. Case hardened NID action is fitted with single selective trigger with selector incorporated with safety button, and has early pin type cocking indicators. Action is engraved in typical “Grade 4” style, with 70% coverage large shaded acanthus with stippled background, surrounding scenes of birds on each side of action under “Ithaca Gun Co” and “Ithaca NY”; duck on left and standing pheasant on right. Blued trigger guard with more acanthus on bow has SN on tang. Lightly figured American walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/4″ over red Decelerator pad. Fancy pattern checkering at grip has fleur-di-lis intrusions and ribbons. Matching short beavertail ejector forend has inset ebony tip and Deeley type release. Bore diameter: left -.612, right – .613. Bore restrictions: left – .020 (IMod), right – .021 (IMod). Wall thickness: left – .037, right – .031. Drop at heel: 2-5/8″, drop at comb: 1-5/8″. CONDITION: Excellent, with only a few light marks on bbls, with a hint of silvering on sharp edges and fences of action, color thinning a bit around bottom. Left side and part of top action show considerable browning with some light pitting. Top lever is slightly thinned on thumbpiece. Trigger guard and forend latch retain nearly all of their blue. Stocks retain nearly all of their orig oil finish with a number of light scuffs on toe line, with other scattered light marks and scratches.
