SN 448900. Cal. 12 ga. 32″ bbls with 2-3/4″ chambers. Full length matted ventilated rib with brass & ivory front bead. Bbls marked “Ithaca Gun Co.” on right and “Ithaca N.Y. U.S.A.”. Breech with approximately 1-1/2″ wedge of oak leaf & acorn engraving. Water table marked with SN and grade and gauge, and is jeweled bbl flats with SN and grade. Gold-plated SST, automatic ejectors and non-automatic safety. Horn capped and custom extended full pistol grip buttstock with gold shield near toe is of flame grained American walnut checkered in fancy typical Grade 7 pattern, with fleur-de-lis checkered side panels and multiple fleur-de-lis around wrist. Small Monte Carlo and buttstock finished with modern Ithaca Gun Co. sunburst pad. Orig beavertail forearm with fully engraved Deeley latch and triangular ebony tip is finely checkered in 2-panel fleur-de-lis. Receiver is finely and fully engraved in acorn and oak pattern with multi color gold ducks in marsh scene on left and gold pheasants on right. Bottom of receiver is fully and finely engraved with multi colored gold American eagle and engraved in banner at head of floorplate “Made in U.S.A.”. Trigger guard bow is fully oak leaf engraved with proud and detailed stag head inlaid in gold. Trigger guard tang is line engraved with SN noted. Safety with trigger selector in gold. Also included is a brown leather modern case with red felt interior. Case has oil bottle snap caps, rosewood cleaning rod and reproduction Ithaca Gun Co. label. Also accompanying this gun is an undated letter from Lipseys of Baton Rouge, LA appraising this shotgun for “at least $10,000″. Bore diameter: left – .742, right – .734. Bore restrictions: left – .012 (lt mod), right – .038 (full). Minimum wall thickness: left – .022, right – .029 . Weight: 8 lbs. 6 oz. Drop at comb: 1-5/8″, drop at rear of Monte Carlo: 1-5/8″, drop at heel: 2”. LOP: 13-1/4″ from rear position single trigger. Bbls retain most of a fine quality older restored blue finish. Receiver is mostly gray with traces of orig case color. Engraving still sharp. Buttstock with 1/2″ extension in pistol grip area with custom cap. Butt retains most of an older professionally restored hand-rubbed finish, checkering has been re-cut and subsequently thinned from handling. Checkering at extension in grip is well matched. Forearm is excellent and retains most of its professionally restored finish. Case is excellent as are accessories. Mechanics are fair and trigger is in need of adjustment as left hammer will not drop. Bores are excellent and gun is tight on the face. 51033-12 JSL (8,000-12,000) C&R; IVORY – Lot 3531
