*RARE AND DESIRABLE A.H. FOX CE GRADE 20 GAUGE SHOTGUN 2 BARREL SET.

SN 203604. Cal. 20 ga. 2-1/2″ chambers (both sets of bbls). Bbl set #1 is 28″ Chromox fluid steel. bbl set #2 is 29″ Chromox fluid steel. Both sets with full length matted rib and steel front bead marked on right tube near breech, “Chromox Fluid Compressed Steel” and on left “Made by Savage Arms Corp. Utica, N.Y. U.S.A.” Small wedge of scroll at breech on both bbl sets. 3 wt. bbls. Double nickel plated triggers, automatic ejectors and non-auto safety. Round knob pistol grip buttstock with checkered side panels and checkered in 3-pt pattern with dark fiddle back grain as requested on order card, a facsimile copy is included with this gun. Gun is accompanied by 2 matching splinter forearms numbered to the gun and numbered 1 and 2, both identically checkered, Deeley latches lightly geometric design engraved with ebony triangular tips. Butt with modern leather covered pad. Receiver is nicely engraved in typical C-pattern with woodcock on right, quail on left- both in grassy scenes and marked “Ansley H. Fox” at top of game scene, all surrounded by lightly cut scroll. Bottom of frame with setter in hills and trigger plate is lightly scroll engraved. Trigger guard bow is lightly scroll engraved and SN noted on tang with wavy border engraving. Top of frame, breech balls and top lever with light scroll engraving. Bbl set #1: Bore diameter: left – .619, right – .619. Bore restrictions: left – .017 (mod), right – .014 (mod). Minimum wall thickness: left – .026, right – .028 . Bbl set #2 Bore diameter: left – .617 right – .618. Bore restrictions: left – .028 (full), right – .032 (full). Minimum wall thickness: left – .023, right – .019 (1 small spot 4″ from muzzle). Weight: 6 lbs. 9 oz. (bbl set #1), 6 lbs. 10 oz. (bbl set #2) Drop at comb: 1-1/2″, drop at heel: 2-9/16″. LOP: 14-1/4″. PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms CONDITION: Excellent and collector quality. Bbl set #1 retains most of what appears to be their orig blued finish with minor light handling marks. Engraving is sharp. Bbl set #2 is excellent and retains most of what appears to be an old restored blued finish and shows light oxidation near muzzle, but generally excellent overall. Buttstock and forearms have been beautifully restored. Checkering is crisp and retain about all of their restored finish with scattered light handling marks. Receiver is excellent with case color particularly nice on sides, toned on bottom, though 40-50% overall. Trigger guard retains nearly all of its restored blued finish, engraving lightly thinned. Bores are excellent, near mirror in both sets. Mechanics are excellent. Gun is tight on the face.
