SUPERB FLINTLOCK JAEGER RIFLE BY FISCHER.

NSN. Cal. 69. (.700 Bore diameter, “smooth” rifling) 25″ Swamped octagon bbl is fitted with unique large V-groove rear sight. Round bodied lock with unbridled friction frizzen and round bodied serpentine cock is engraved “Fischer” under frizzen spring. (No town or address is given.) European walnut stock extends to muzzle with horn cap, and has many areas of relief acanthus carving. Stock is brass mounted with heavy buttplate. Trigger guard, sideplate, and ramrod pipes are unadorned, but of fancy outline. A sliding patchbox is on right side of butt. CONDITION: Excellent, near to new, showing only faint ravages of time. Appears essentially unfired, with only a few minor marks and dings and some spatters of white paint (?) on wood. 51162-16 (3,000-5,000) – Lot 3515
