FRAMED TABLE MIRROR IN CARVED STAND.

China. Qing Dynasty. The large rectangular mirror housed in a wood frame and swivels on an intricately carved stand perched upon the backs of two recumbent foo dogs with bun feet. SIZE: Overall 28-1/2″ h x 22-1/4″ w. PROVENANCE: By descent thru the family of William Gano Pierce (1825 – 1875) who sailed from New York on board the Samuel Russell under Captain T. D. Palmer to Hong Kong, arriving June 15th, 1849. He remained in China for eight years. By direct descent through the family to the current owner. CONDITION: Some elements loose, some deterioration to the mirror, minor loss to carved scrolling. 51637-13 (600-800) – Lot 3513
