CARETTE LARGE GAUGE ENGINE & TENDER.

Seldom does one have an opportunity to buy large gauge trains in any condition. This particular piece appears to have an excellent overall restoration and at first glance one could perceive the piece to be in choice original condition. Fine crazing to the coloring and some bubbling to the paint give this toy an original look. Technically it’s a 4-2-0 outline with the large steam driven drive wheel engaged by a cylinder connected to the steam boiler. The tender is also massive, being six wheels. At one point in time, the boiler would have had a light on the front, and although the bracket is there, the somewhat elaborate light is missing. At the rear of the boiler at the front of the engine cab is a lever to activate the whistle. SIZE: 22″ l overall with 2-1/4″ wheel width.
