*EXCEPTIONAL COLLECTOR’S LOT OF SAGINAW AND STANDARD PRODUCTS WWII M1 CARBINES.1) US CARBINE, M1 SAGINAW M1 CARBINE. SN 5849053. Cal. 30M1. 18″ bbl marked “Saginaw SG General Motors” without date. Metal component parts finished in a grey/green phosphate finish. Many early features include but not limited to, flip rear sight, push button safety, and narrow type 1 barrel band. 2 piece walnut stocks have 2 rivet hand guard and are properly marked with “RSG” manufacturer markings. Both are finished in traditional arsenal oil finish. Internal parts appear to all be of correct manufacture but not guaranteed as such. Complete with web sling and oiler. CONDITION: Very fine as refinished and evidence of restoration. Stocks have been lightly sanded and a professional minor repair is evident behind tang. Metal surfaces have been either arsenal or professionally redone at some prior date. The narrow type 1 barrel band is a reproduction, however all other parts appear to be original and correct. C&R 2) US CARBINE, M1 STANDARD PRD M1 CARBINE. SN 1983140. Cal. 30M1. 18″ bbl marked “Underwood 12-42”. Most primary components finished in grey/green phosphate with exception of flat bolt and narrow type 1 barrel band. 2 piece walnut stocks have “H.I.” marking on 2 rivet hand guard and LW-B in sling slot on butt stock, as well as Ordnance wheel inspection. Many early features include, but not limited to, flip sight, narrow front barrel band, push button safety. Complete with 30 round magazine and khaki web sling with oiler. CONDITION: Very good as refinished and restored. Metal finish is rather thin with evidence of light pitting on barrel and sides of receiver below wood line. Rear flip sight is an excellent reproduction, and the narrow type 1 barrel band is a reproduction as well. Bore and mechanics are fine. Wood stocks have been lightly sanded and refinished, and a crack in butt stock on front right side has been repaired very well and is stable. Sling is a period reproduction, as is oiler.
