Please note: Good news, we have just learned that the antique metal silhouette weathervane purportedly depicts Admiral D.G. Farragut and was formerly in the Paul DeHaan Collection of Items Related to Admiral D.G. Farragut and the USS Hartford.

SHEET IRON SEA CAPTAIN WITH TELESCOPE WEATHERVANE AND SAILOR BLOWING HORN WEATHERVANE.

1) 33-1/2″ h x 29-1/2″ w. Painted sheet iron weathervane depicts a blue suited captain with long brown telescope to eye, stands on a brown arrow, the back having old red paint with half bar reinforcement. 2) 9″ h x 43″ l. Flying carved wood sailor with trumpet in mouth, colorful paint. SIZE: As noted above. PROVENANCE: From the personal estate collection of John W. Armiger Jr. CONDITION: 1) Repainted. 2) Has repaired break in trumpet, wear to paint, and some rot to side. 49055-74 (1,200-1,800) – Lot 3444
