POLYCHROME CARVED TAVERN PICTURE AND “THE SMELTERS ARMS” TWO SIDED TRADE SIGN.

1) Hand carved and painted low relief picture shows three men and a woman in an interior tavern setting. Note on reverse indicated that is was found in an attic in St. Louis in 1945. Probably of German origin. The picture housed within a 4″ frame. 2) A two sided hanging sign “The Smelters Arms”, artwork by G. Mayhew, most likely a sign outside a tavern. Heavy iron hanging frame. The scene shows a smelter flexing his arm with a foundry bucket tilting its contents into a mold. SIZE: 1) Total 28″ x 43″. 2) Total 52″ x 42″ x 5″ d. PROVENANCE: From the personal estate collection of Michael Urioste of Gadsden Alabama. CONDITION: 1) Some light chips and scrapes, separation lines at seams.
