Please Note: Great News! We have been contacted by the family of the Estate from which this textile panel was consigned. They state this is not the first part of the 20th Century but at the very least late 19th Century. Indeed they have provided various photos of the magnificent ancestral Victorian home taken in 1897 which clearly exhibits this exact tapestry on the wall. SILK EMBROIDERED “BIRDS OF PARADISE” TEXTILE PANEL.First quarter 20th century, China. Silver thread scene of two cranes wading in a river surrounded by large peony branches and smaller songbirds.
