TWO ADVERTISING BULLDOG SIGNS.

1) A self framed tin sign, for the American Brewing Company “A. B. C. Bohemian”. The black framed sign having an oval interior showing a white bulldog seated looking at a sealed bottle of this St. Louis Brewery. Bottom of frame is titled “Watching A Good Thing”. 2) A poster for John W. Merriam & Co., tilted “At The Sign Of The Bulldog”. Merriam was a New York cigar maker, the colorful print shows a proper clothed gentleman with his bulldog standing beside an advertising clock for Henry Irving Segar. The background is Central Park New York. Housed in its original black painted wood frame with plaque, behind glass. SIZE: 1) 20″ h x 24-1/2″ w. 2) Sight 19-1/2″ h x 14-1/4″ w. Overall 25-1/2″ h x 20″ w. PROVENANCE: From the personal estate collection of Michael Urioste of Gadsden Alabama. CONDITION: 1) Scratches and scrapes, central image generally good. 2) Not examined out of frame, poster is very good, frame has some scuffs. 49354-16 (1,500-2,000) – Lot 3417
