*HIGH QUALITY ARRIZABALAGA 20 GAUGE SIDELOCK EJECTOR SELF-OPENING GAME GUN WITH “PURDEY” ENGRAVING AND WITH CASE.

SN 13857. Cal. 20 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 26-1/2″ Chopper lump bbls are fitted with Churchill rib. Gun is no. “2” of a pair, with “2” gold inlaid at breech end of rib, on top lever, and forend tip. Tops of bbls are engraved with Arrizabalaga name and address and “ESPECIALLY MADE FOR J. ROBERTS & SON KING ST. LONDON.” Bbl flats are stamped with 1984 Spanish nitro proofs for 2-3/4″ chambers. Bbls are fitted with H&H type self-opening assist spring. Case hardened sidelock action features automatic safety (SAFE inlaid in gold), bushed strikers, gold band tumbler end cocking indicators, H&H type detachable locks, and dbl triggers (front articulated). Action and lockplates are engraved with classic English rose and scroll (advertised as “Purdey” style). “PEDRO” “ARRIZABALAGA” “EIBAR” is on bottom of action. Blued single beaded trigger guard with large open scroll on bow, has SN on tang. Nicely stump figured and lightly marbled European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-7/8″ over checkered wood butt, and features elongated drop points, diamond hand with point pattern checkering, and a vacant gold oval on toe line. Matching beavertail ejector forend has Anson release. Bore diameter: left -.617, right – .617. Bore restrictions: left – .006 (IC), right – .002 (skeet). Drop at heel: 2-1/8″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Cast: Neutral. Weight: 6 lbs. 2 oz. LOP: 14-7/8″. Brown leather case with stitched leather corners is lined in green felt, and has oval leather “Exposito” label in lid. Case contains a 3-pc brass and wood cleaning rod, along with a key. PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Excellent, with evidence of casual field use. Bbls retain over 95% orig blue, thinned a bit, and with some marks. Case hardening of action shows silvering on beads and fences, slightly thinned on bottom. Top lever thumbpiece is slightly silvered. Blue on trigger guard tang is a bit thin. Stocks have a few light marks, a couple of removed dents, and some scratches, checkering lightly worn. Mechanically excellent. Case has a number of marks and scratches on its leather. Straps and handle are good. Interior cloth shows some soiling and rubs through from bbl lump. This esteemed Spanish maker makes only best quality guns with delivery taking over a year.
