*NICELY MATCHED PAIR OF ARRIETA MODEL 801 SIDELOCK EJECTOR SELF OPENING GAME GUNS WITH CASE.

SN 36687/ 36688. Cal. 12 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 27″ Chopper lump bbls with narrow swamped game ribs, are engraved “Fea de Escopetas Arrieta – Elgoibar Espana”. Rear portions of ribs, top levers, and forend tips are gold inlaid with “1” or “2” denoting a true pair. Bbl flats are stamped with Spanish nitro proofs, and bbls are fitted with H&H type self-opening assist spring. Coin finished H&H type sidelock actions feature automatic safeties, bushed strikers, H&H type hand detachable locks, and dbl triggers (fronts articulated). Actions are engraved with near full coverage varying sized well cut scroll within scroll borders. “Arrieta y Cie” is on scrolled riband on each lockplate, and also on bottoms of actions between “FABRICA DE” “ELGOIBAR”. Scroll engraved trigger guards have SNs on tangs. Nicely matched, well marbled and lightly figured European walnut straight grip buttstocks measure 14-7/8″ over skip line checkered wood butts, and feature drop points, point pattern checkering, and silver ovals on toe lines engraved “H” under a counts crown. Matching splinter ejector forends have Anson releases. Gun no. “1”: Bore diameter: left -.726, right – .727. Bore restrictions: left – .009 (IC), right – .010 (IC). Drop at heel: 2-3/8″, drop at comb: 1-7/16″. Cast: Neutral. Weight: 6 lbs. 12 oz. LOP: 14-7/8″. Gun no. “2”: Bore diameter: left -.724, right – .723. Bbls show a number of light scratches and marks as associated with a few weeks in the field, with thinning at sides above forends. Coin finish of actions remains excellent. Stocks have had a light refinish, with one or two subsequent minor bumps. Bores are excellent. Mechanically excellent. Case is excellent.
