EARLY CAMEO GLASS VASE.

Early vase attributed to Baccarat has cameo floral decoration of green leaves and shaded pink flowers surrounding the entire vase. Cameo decoration is set against a soft white background. Vase is finished with a gilded lip and polished foot. Unsigned. Vase is accompanied by copies of pages from the book One Hundred Types of Collectible Glass, Book II. One page shows a similar example of this vase while another page has a description that reads, “A generation or more before French cameo hit full stride, Baccarat made this vase about 1850.” SIZE: 11″ t. PROVENANCE: James Boma Collection. CONDITION: There is a tiny open bubble in two of the pink flowers (from the making.) There is also wear to the gilded rim and the gilding may have been redone at some point, otherwise very good to excellent. 5-69651 (700-1,000) – Lot 3397
