SN 1021. (1942) Cal. 410. 3″ Chambers. 26″ Bbls with slightly raised, matted, game rib are engraved “Abercrombie & Fitch Co” “Made in Belgium” and “U.S. Agents New – York” on tops. Bbl flats are stamped with 1942 Belgian nitro proofs for 3″ chambers, steel type, and “FRANCOTTE CHOKEBORE”. Bottoms of bbls are stamped with choke information and “Siemens Martin Steel”. Diminutive, case hardened, boxlock action with nicely filed fences features automatic safety, crossbolt third fastener, and dbl triggers. Action has stippling on fences and top lever, and screw heads are engraved in feather bursts. “The Knock About Gun” is on both sides. Blued trigger guard has SN on tang. Lightly figured and streaked European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-3/8″ over ribbed horn buttplate. Flat top point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. Bore diameter at muzzles: left -.388 (full), right – .400 (mod). Wall thickness: left – .040, right – .035. Drop at heel: 2-9/16″, drop at comb: 1-5/16″. Cast: neutral. Weight: 4 lbs. 9 oz. LOP: 14-3/8″. PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain approx 95% orig blue with numerous light marks, thinning a bit on sides. Action retains 90 – 95% orig case hardening color, silvering on sharp edges and on fences. Stocks retain nearly all of their orig finish with a number of light and heavy marks and scratches. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. Ejectors are in time. Front bead is missing.
