AMERICAN INDIAN CATLINITE PIPE.American Indian Catlinite pipe with haft measuring 27″ overall with custom stand presents nicely. Pipe has nice incised decoration as can be seen in photos. Haft has good surface and appears original and fits adequately but probably had a leather spacer at one time for fit. Pipe shows residue of burned tobacco, good patina to haft and pipe bowl overall. PROVENANCE: Skinner Auctions lot 157, Sept 9, 2014. From the personal estate collection of John W. Armiger Jr. CONDITION: Pipe bowl is sound, complete with a few consequential chips in bowl that has patinaed over. Haft has hand worn patina with large age crack on bottom with chip on bottom of mouthpiece and about a 2″ sliver missing from bottom of pipe. Custom iron stand is very good. 49055-62 (1,800-2,200) – Lot 3385
