KILGORE TAT AIRPLANE.

Perhaps the nicest and most realistic of the cast iron airplane series, this particular example was produced by Kilgore. A tri-motor with a ribbed fuselage and the initials “T.A.T.” on the rear section. Produced in the 1930s, this toy emulated the real thing. The airline company “Transcontinental Air Transport later became the now defunct TWA. Attractively enameled in green with a creamy yellow wing and tail. This toy is susceptible to damage/breakage on the rear section of the fuselage tail fin assembly. This particular example has a repaired tail section and apparently some repaint and possible repair to the left side of the fuselage behind the wing. Overall a very impressive aesthetically pleasing toy. SIZE: 13-1/2” wingspan. CONDITION: Overall paint is very good plus. Right wheel well under motor apparently is repainted/replaced. 1-13993 (1,000-2,000) – Lot 3364
