SN 30189. Cal. 12 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 28″ and 30″ Mono-bloc bbls are gold inlaid “I” and “II” at rear portions of narrow, matted, ventilated ribs. Left sides of bbls and mono-blocs are marked with steel type and Beretta name and address, along with “MADE IN ITALY”. Sides of mono-blocs are engine turned, and bottoms are stamped with 1965 Italian nitro proofs, grade and SNs. Choke stars are on left sides of bbls. Coin finished, low profile, sidelock action features non-automatic safety, double Kersten type bolt, and gold plated single non-selective trigger. Action and lockplates are engraved with full coverage open shaded scroll with multi-floral and acanthus highlights surrounding gold inlaid game birds in oval and circular motifs; two pigeons on bottom of action, pheasant and snipe on left lockplate, and a duck and grouse on right. Engravers signature “S. Tononcelli” is on trigger plate. Blued top lever, with thumbpiece pierced in floral motif, is gold inlaid with a crown. Trigger guard with more scroll, has SN on tang. Exceptional high quality, beautifully flame figured, dense American walnut rosewood capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/8″ over brown KICKEEZ pad. Borderless checkering at grip is very cleanly cut. Checkering features fleur-di-lis and ribbons through pattern along with large flourishes into butt. Matching long one piece forend has Deeley type release, and a gold sparrow inlet above escutcheon. 28″ BBL SET “I”: Bore diameter: top -.725, bottom – .723. Bore restrictions: top – .022 (mod), bottom – .011 (lt mod). Drop at heel: 1-7/8″, drop at comb: 1-7/16″. Cast: approx 1/4″ off. Weight: 7 lbs. 15 oz. LOP: 14-1/8″. 30″ BBL SET “II”: Bore diameter: top -.725, bottom – .723. Bore restrictions: top – .042 (extra full), bottom – .023 (mod). Drop at heel: 1-13/16″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Cast: approx 1/4″ off. Weight: 7 lbs. 15 oz. LOP: 14-1/8″. Makers green canvas case with stitched leather corners is lined in blue velvet with Beretta embroidered in gold in lid. PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Excellent, as refurbished. Both sets of bbls retain nearly all of what appears to be their orig blue. Coin finish of action remains bright, with little evidence of cleaning. New stocks retain essentially all of their fine hand rubbed oil finish, with only one or two of the faintest of handling marks. Checkering remains light in color, with almost no wear. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. Ejectors are in time. Trigger works.
