SN AAA174B. (1993) Cal. 28 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 28″ Mono-bloc bbls are fitted with flat, matted, solid rib. They are engraved “P. Beretta – ITALY” and with importer (Beretta USA) on top bbl either side of ribs. Bottom bbl is engraved with caliber and bbl length. Mono-bloc is stamped with 1993 Italian nitro proofs, and is engine turned on sides. Coin finished, small sized, low profile, OU sidelock action fitted with non-automatic safety and non-selective single trigger, is engraved with makers name on each side, and “MADE IN ITALY” on bottom. Action is engraved with 80% coverage well cut, small, shaded scroll surrounding meticulously rendered Bulino game scenes of game birds; pair of woodcock flying into open mountainous terrain on left lockplate, pair of bobwhite quail flushing into pine studded opening on right, and a ruffed grouse flying across opening with birch tree in background on bottom. This fine engraving is signed G. Ptedute (?), at the bottom of woodcock scene. An imperial crown is inlaid in gold on top lever. Single beaded small bow trigger guard with scroll engraving on bow, has grade engraved on tang. Superb, wonderfully marbled and figured European walnut deep pistol grip buttstock measures 14-5/8″ over checkered wood butt. Point pattern checkering with line border is at grip. Matching one piece small forend has Deeley type release. Bore diameter: top -.545, bottom – .544. Bore restrictions: top – .027 (full), bottom – .021 (mod). Wall thickness: top – .032, bottom – .038. Drop at heel: 2-1/16″, drop at comb: 1-5/16″. Cast off approx 1/2″. Weight: 5 lbs. 8 oz. LOP: 14-5/8″. CONDITION: Excellent, showing limited use, with one or two minor marks and rubs on bbls. Coin finish remains bright with perhaps a touch of darkening at rear portion of left lock. Stocks have some light handling marks. Finish is thin on butt. Checkering is excellent. Mechanically crisp.
