*GORGEOUS PIOTTI “KING EXTRA” MARKED “KING 1” SIDELOCK EJECTOR SINGLE TRIGGER GAME GUN WITH SUPERB SCROLL AND GOLD INLAY BY RANETTI WITH BOX.

SN 7537. (1980) Cal. 12 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 30″ Chopper lump bbls are fitted with slightly raised, flat, matted rib, and engraved “Flli Piotti – Italy” and with steel type,”ACCIATO SIAU U.M.6.” Bbl flats are stamped with 1980 Italian nitro proofs for 2-3/4″ chambers, SN, and early Piotti logo. Bottoms of bbls are engraved with grade (King 1) and importer (W L Moore, Westlake CA). Case hardened sidelock action features non-automatic safety (S inlaid in gold), bushed strikers, and single non-selective trigger with checkered finger blade. Action is engraved with near full coverage well cut minuscule scroll surrounding gold inlaid falls and partial bouquets of roses. Top lever is gold inlaid with a crown. “PIOTTI” is in gold at bottom left side of action. Small bow trigger guard with thin bead, has matching scroll and SN on tang. This very fine engraving is signed “G Ranetti” on trigger plate. Unusual, dense, stump figured and watermarked European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/4″ over brown Decelerator pad, and features nicely sculpted drop points. Very closely spaced and exceptionally well cut borderless point pattern checkering is at grip. Bottom of grip is meticulously gold inlaid with cut out initials in script “WLM”. Matching short beavertail ejector forend has Anson release. Gold Piotti logo is inlet on central uncheckered diamond though without engraving on central oval. Bore diameter: left -.728, right – .727. Bore restrictions: left – .019 (Mod), right – .014 (Lt mod). Drop at heel: 2″, drop at comb: 1-5/8″. Cast: Neutral. Weight: 7 lbs. 15 oz. LOP: 14-1/4″. Gun is accompanied by its orig wood grain printed box with matching end label. PROVENANCE: Remarkable William Larkin Moore Private Estate Collection of Fine Sporting Arms. CONDITION: Excellent, very near new, with scant evidence of light field use, with a few minor handling and assembly marks in all fine factory finishes.
