SN 9046. (1992) Cal. 20 ga. 3″ Chambers. 27″ Chopper lump bbls with narrow, matted game rib, are engraved “Flli PIOTTI ITALY” on side of left bbl. Bbl flats are stamped with 1992 Italian nitro proofs, and with SN. Bottom of left bbl is engraved with model and importers name and address (WLM Westlake, CA). Case hardened sidelock action features non-automatic safety (S inlaid in gold), raised arrowhead tumbler end cocking indicators, and dbl triggers. Action is engraved with full coverage very well cut small scroll as backgrounds to striking floral and foliate sprays that are very nicely detailed. An imperial crown is inlaid in gold on top lever. Makers name does not appear on exterior, but is stamped, along with grade, on water table. Matching blued single beaded trigger guard has SN on tang. Nicely marbled, and finely flame/ burl figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-5/8″ over checkered wood butt, and features diamond hand and point pattern checkering with line borders. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release, and inlet gold Piotti device on central diamond. Bore diameter: left -.618, right – .619. Bore restrictions: screw chokes. Drop at heel: 2-1/4″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Cast: approx 1/4″ off. Weight: 6 lbs. 6 oz. LOP: 14-5/8″. Dark brown leather case with stitched leather corners by Nizzoli, is lined in dark olive felt. Black leather Piotti label is stitched into lid. Exterior straps are inside. CONDITION: Excellent, very close to new, with evidence of very light field use, with a few minor marks in all orig finishes, with slight silvering of action beads and thumbpiece, and a bit at grip. Bbls are slightly off face. Bores are excellent. Action has a hint of looseness. Ejectors are in time. Case is excellent with one or two light rubs, one deep. Interior is excellent.
