1) SVW 46 P38. SN 6916k. Cal. 9mm. 5″ bbl. Marked “P.38”, “svw/46”, SN on left side of slide. Five-pointed French star on right side of slide. Matching SN’s on bbl, frame, and slide. Metal grips. This gun is explained on p. 56, pictured on p. 59 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. II by Warren Buxton. “P.38″, WaA708,”jvd” marked magazine. Accompanied by unmarked post-war black leather pebble grain holster. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Fine, retaining most of the orig finish. Finish wear on high points with light handling marks. Metal grips have light handling marks with a good amount of the orig finish. Bore has strong rifling with slight roughness. Excellent working order. Holster is fine with strong stitching. C&R 2) SVW 45 P38. SN 7052k. Cal. 9mm. 5″ bbl. Marked “P.38”, “svw/46”, SN on left side of slide. Five-pointed French star on right side of slide. Austrian BH marking on left side of frame just after SN. Matching SNs on bbl, frame, and slide. Metal grips. This gun is explained on p. 83, pictured on p. 89 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. III by Warren Buxton. Much later Walther banner “P38 9mm” magazine.
