1) CYQ P38. SN 499. Cal. 9mm. 5″ bbl. Marked “P.38”, “cyq/499”, “S” on left side of slide. Czech lion proof mark on top of bbl. Eagle/swastika on right side of slide. “E” on left side of trigger web and “46” on right side. Matching numbers on bbl, frame, slide, and magazine. Black grips. “jvd” marked magazine. Accompanied by black leather flap holster marked on back “bla/1944”, eagle WaA 159 and “P38”. This gun is explained on pgs. 48-49, pictured on p. 50 of Warren Buxton’s book “The P-38 Pistol” Vol III. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Excellent. Retaining most of its orig finish. Markings are clear. Excellent bore. Grips with light scratches and light handling marks. Excellent working order. Holster is fine with solid stitching and clear markings. C&R 2) CYQ P38. SN 6078C. Cal. 9mm. 5″ bbl. Marked “P.38”, “cyq” and SN on left side of slide. Eagle 88 inspected. Matching SNs on slide, frame and bbl. Proper magazine is unmarked. Brown bakelite grips. Accompanied by black leather flap holster marked “joa 1943” and “P38” on back. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Fine with most of its orig finish. Wear on high points and grip strap. Excellent grips. Excellent bore. Excellent working order. Holster is solid, stitching is good, belt loops appear to be replacements, markings are worn. Holster has 3 holes in the back, one being through the bottom.
