1) MAUSER P38. SN 2158a. Cal. 9mm. 5″ bbl. Marked “P.38 byf/42”. SN on left of slide. Eagle 135 inspector’s mark. Matching SNs on frame, slide and bbl. Dark Bakelite grips. This gun is described on p. 18, pictured p. 19, of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. II by Warren Buxton. “P.38v eagle 359” marked magazine. Accompanied by black leather clam shell holster marked “jhg/42” eagle WaA286, “P.38″ on back. Belt loops on holster are secured by rivets no evidence of stitching. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Good condition overall, retaining a fair amount of orig blue with honest finish wear. Bore is excellent with strong rifling. Excellent working order. Holster is solid with scuff marks and strong stitching. C&R 2) BYF 43/MAUSER P38. SN 9215c. Cal. 9mm. 5” bbl. Marked on left side of slide “P.38”, “byf/43”, SN. Eagle 135 inspected. Matching numbers on frame, slide, and bbl. Black grips. “P.38v/U” WaA135 marked magazine. Accompanied by black leather clam shell holster marked on back “ewx/1943”, WaA195, “P38”. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Very good, retaining most of the finish. Markings are clear. Bore has light pitting. Grips have light scratches and handling marks. Holster is solid, showing wear with strong stitching.
