NINE EXPORT FAMILLE ROSE DISHES.19th century, China. Each depicting butterflies and various insects. SIZE: 8″ dia. PROVENANCE: According to family tradition this item was brought back from China by Capt. Richard Alsager (1781-1841), Captain in the East India Company and later MP (1835-41) for Eastern Surrey in England. His last trip to China was in the mid-1820’s. CONDITION: Five good.
