SN 25004. Cal. 20 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 28″ Chopper lump bbls are engraved “Chas. Lancaster. Birmingham.” on low narrow concave game ribs with no. “2” inlaid in gold on rear end of rib, top lever, and forend tip. Breech ends of bbls have 1″ triangles of shaded scroll. Bottoms of bbls are fitted with Holland & Holland style assisted opening spring mechanism. Bbl flats show 1984 Birmingham nitro proofs for 2-3/4″ chambers. Holland style bar lock action features non-automatic safety (SAFE is inlaid in gold), bushed strikers, and non-selective single trigger. Lockplates are fitted with H & H style hand detachable pin. Actions and lockplates are engraved with well executed large flowing open scroll. “Chas. Lancaster” is in arched riband on each lockplate. Bottom of action is engraved “De Luxe” “Assisted” “Opener”. Single beaded small bow trigger guard is scroll engraved, with SN on tang. Broadly streaked and lightly figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-7/16″ over checkered wood butt. Stock features diamond hand, drop points, and gold shield on toe line engraved “JCC”. Nicely cut approx 28 LPI flat top standard point pattern checkering has dbl line border. Matching splinter forend has Anson release. Bore diameter: left -.617, right -.616. Bore restrictions: left -.016 (mod), right -.007 (IC). Wall thickness: left -.035, right -.030. Drop at heel: 1-13/16″;, drop at comb: 1-7/16″;. Cast: Neutral. Weight: 5 lbs. 14 oz, LOP 14-7/16″;. Brown leather case with leather corners is lined in green felt, and contains a pair of snap caps, mop and brush. This well-made sidelock gun was assembled, finished, and proofed in Birmingham England from components sourced across Britain and continental Europe and represent a fine value when compared to its London made counterparts. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain 96-98% orig blue, silvering at muzzles and breech ends, with a few marks from use, thinning slightly above forend. Action retains approx. 95% of its orig case color, silvered on beads and sides of fences. Top lever is slightly silvered at thumbpiece. Stocks retain nearly all of their orig oil finish, slightly dry, with a very few minor marks from handling and use. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Ejectors are in time. Single trigger work.
