All wooden toy features hand painted ark with hinged roof. Toy shows approximately 36 (18 pairs) hand carved wooden animals from the Erzgebirge region in Germany. Ark is circa 1890-1910 when hand carved toys such as this were family made via cottage industry. Carvings and colors used appeal to folk art collectors. SIZE: Ark is 18″ l. Animals average 2-3″ l.
