GERMAN ROOSTER NINE PINS SKITTLES CONTAINER.Circa 1920s-1930s this somewhat smaller skittles container is in remarkable ,untouched, all original finish. Recently discovered in an attic in Baltimore, MD at an estate sale one can only imagine the skittles themselves were probably in the house somewhere as well. More than likely due to its size the skittles were probably just pins and not animal figures. The rooster is polychromed in a multitude of colors the original paint is thick and vibrant with showing only minimal wear and some fine crazing in sections. Iron spoked wheels with a gold wash are attached to the underside of the rooster and the youth could either push or pull this toy along behind them. A fresh to the market find this toy has a great aesthetically pleasing overall appearance. SIZE: 16″ l x 13″ h. CONDITION: In very fine to near mint condition with minimal wear/paint chipping. 1-14170 (2,500-3,500) – Lot 3290 Auction: Advertising, Toy & Doll - Spring 2014 Please Note: All prices include the hammer price plus the buyer’s premium, which is paid by the buyer as part of the purchase price.
