FOUR MARTINGALES & PLAINS STYLE STAND UP HEAD DRESS.First half of the 20th century. 1) Typical geometric pattern in white back ground with yellow, red and blue colors. Loom beaded on hide. 2) With snowflake pattern in white background with red and blue. Bugle beaded fringe. Loom beaded on hide. 3) Cheyenne Martingale loom beaded on white background with diamond motif in red and yellow. Four decorative blue rosettes applied. 4) Crow Martingale spot stitched on hide. Beaded on with typical Crow patterns and applied trade cloth. Typical Crow pattern in red, green , yellow, gray , blue, white pink with burgundy trade cloth. 5) Plains style stand up head dress. Dyed turkey feathers wrapped with trade cloth applied to felt foundation hat. Applied loom beaded white background brow band with beaded rosettes on either side. SIZE: 1 & 2) 18″ overall. 3) Overall 24″ l. 4) Overall 36″ l x 17″ w. 5) Overall 24″ l. PROVENANCE: Rod Fuller Estate Collection.
