SN 00585-H. Cal. 38 Spcl Auto. Receiver SN “00585-H”, slide marked “.38 Special Kit” and Rampant Colt. Bbl marked “Colt .38 Special Kit”. Slide right hand marking “Colt Patented F A Mfg. Co. Hartford, Conn. USA”. Stocks with Rampant Colt emblem are reddish plastic showing considerable shrinkage and if removed would not be able to be installed again. Rear sight is Bo-mar pat. marked. Top of rear sight marked “UP”. Front sight is wide backtapered block. Bbl bushing unmarked. Trigger is milled and checkered. Mag is stamped metal marked “Colt .38 Special” on bottom. Accompanied by serial numbers matching kraft type box with 2 factory Colt .38 Spl magazines and a small bag of spare parts including trigger , mainspring housing and recoil spring guide. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Approximately 98+% orig blue, very little observable wear, only a few scratches. Action appears to have considerable grease inside.
